What does a Dental Implant involve?
The Dental Implant procedure can be a single stage or a two-stage procedure depending upon the Quality and Quantity of bone present and underlying medical complications, if any.
In the First Step of the Dental Implant process, the Specialists understand and address your specific needs and create a detailed treatment plan in accordance.
Next, the team of Specialists place the tooth root Implant(s), which is a small post made of Titanium into the bone socket of the missing tooth. As the jawbone heals, it grows around the Implanted Titanium post, anchoring it securely in the jaw. The healing process can take from 6 to 12 weeks. Once the Implant has bonded to the jawbone, an Abutment is attached to the post securely holding the new tooth.
For the most natural NEW tooth/ teeth, multiple impressions including bite records are fed into advanced softwares to create the model tooth/ teeth. The NEW tooth, called a Crown, is then attached to the Abutment to successfully complete the procedure.
Your NEW teeth look, feel and function just like your natural teeth, NO DIFFERENCE!
Choosing your new natural looking teeth:
- Removable
- Fixed
This is similar to a conventional removable denture, partial or full. It contains your New teeth which are intricately matched to your natural teeth and surrounded by pink gum. It’s mounted on a metal frame that is attached to the Implant Abutment, and it snaps securely into place. It can be easily removed for repair or daily cleaning.
An artificial tooth is permanently screwed or cemented onto an individual Implant Abutment, which cannot be removed for cleaning or during sleep. Usually, each Crown is attached to its own Dental Implant. Since Implants are exceptionally strong, several teeth can be replaced by one Implant if they’re bridged together.
ALL – ON – 4 PROCEDURE (Same Day Smile)
Four Dental Implants are placed in the available bone, avoiding the need for bone grafting. Special Abutments are used so that a temporary set of replacement teeth can be placed the same day. You follow a modified diet while the gum tissues heal and the Implants bond with your natural bone. After about six months, the permanent replacement teeth will be placed and you can resume a regular diet.
